The way e answer Peter really show say, e accept and value the way Jehovah de think, but e reject the way this world de think.

3. Why e no dey easy to think like Jehovah but e easy to think like people for this world?

 ³ What about us today? We de think the way God de think or the way this world de think? E dey clear say as Christians, we don change our character so that we go fit de do wetin God want. But, what about our thinking? We de try to think and see things like Jehovah? To do this one, we really need to work hard. But e no hard to start to do things like people for this world. This one na true because the spirit of this world dey everywhere around us. (Eph. 2:2) Another thing be say, the spirit of this world de make person like only e self. Na e make we fit de do like the world if we no dey careful. True-true, e no easy to think like Jehovah, but e no hard to think like the world.

4. (a) Wetin go happen if we allow the world to mold our thinking? (b) Wetin we go learn for this topic?

⁴ If we allow the world to mold the way we de think, we go de think only about ourself, and we go start to decide wetin we feel say e dey good or bad. (Mark 7:21, 22) So, e dey important make we learn to think the way “God want,” no be the way “person want.” This topic go help us, because e talk about how we fit de think the way Jehovah want. We no go lose our freedom if we do like that, but na we go gain well-well. E still show us how we fit fight the thinking of this world. For the next topic, we go talk about how we fit understand the way Jehovah de think for different matters and de think like that.

5. Why some people no want make anybody mold or control them?

⁵ Some people no want make anybody mold or control their thinking. Na e make people they talk say: “Na me de think anything wey I de do.” Wetin this one fit mean be say, na them de decide anything wey they want do, and they get the right to do-am. They no want make person control them, or force them to do wetin other people de do. *

6. (a) Which freedom Jehovah give us? (b) Na total freedom?

⁶ E dey important to know say, if we de think the way Jehovah want, e no mean say we no go fit decide anything by ourself again. As 2 Corinthians 3:17 talk, “the place wey the spirit of Jehovah dey, freedom dey there.” We get the freedom to be the kind person wey we want be. We get some things wey we choose for life because we like them. Na so Jehovah make us. But, this one no mean say our freedom no get limit or control. (Read 1 Peter 2:16.) When we need to decide wetin dey right or wrong, Jehovah want make we use e Word, and allow-am to direct us. This one mean say we lose our freedom, or na we go gain?

7, 8. If we de think or do things the way Jehovah want, we lose our freedom or dey tight corner? Give example.

⁷ Make we use this example explain-am. Papa and mama de try to teach and train their children well. They fit teach them to de talk true, work hard, and de care about other people. This one mean say they no want their children to dey free? No. Instead, the papa and mama de prepare their children to be good people when they grow, so that they go fit decide wetin good for theirself. When the children don grow and comot for house, they go dey free to decide anything wey they want do. If they decide to follow the things wey their papa and mama don teach them, they go fit de decide wetin they  no go regret after. This one mean say they go dey free from plenty problem wey they for don enter if to say they follow their own way.

⁸ Like good papa or mama, Jehovah want make all e children enjoy the best life wey we fit think about. (Isa. 48:17, 18) So e de teach us things wey go guide us to live the best life, and how to treat other people. E want make we de think the way e de think and do the things wey e want. This one no put us for tight corner or collect our freedom at all. Instead e give us chance to think deep and be better people. (Ps. 92:5; Prov. 2:1-5; Isa. 55:9) E help us to choose things wey e go make us dey happy and enjoy life. (Ps. 1:2, 3) True-true, na better thing to de think like Jehovah, because the way e de think de benefit us!

9, 10. Wetin show-am clear say the way Jehovah de think better pass the way the world de think?

⁹ Another reason why Jehovah’s servants like to think like Jehovah be say, e thinking high pass the thinking of the world. This world de give advice about how to get good character, how to get happy family, how to get better work and other things. But almost everything wey them de teach no be the way Jehovah de think. For example, the world de encourage people to do things to please only theirself. Sex matter wey no clean for God eye na normal thing for them. Sometimes, them de advice husband and wife to separate or even divorce when they no get better reason to divorce, because they think say na that one go make them happy pass. All this advice na the opposite of wetin Bible talk. But, some of the advice from this world fit help us for this our time?

¹⁰ Jesus talk say: “Better sense de use the kind work wey e de do show say e dey righteous.” (Matt. 11:19) The world don go far for technology; but e never fit solve the main problems wey de make us sad. People wey them de follow the world advice de break law, de treat other people anyhow because they come from another place, and war full everywhere. What of sex matter wey God hate? That one na normal thing for the world. And many people agree say all this things de scatter family, de cause sickness, and many other problems. But what about Christians wey accept the way God de think? Them de enjoy better family life, them de enjoy good health because they no de live dirty life, and them de enjoy peace among brothers and sisters as them de serve Jehovah together for the whole world. (Isa. 2:4; Acts 10:34, 35; 1 Cor. 6:9-11) This one no show clear say the way Jehovah de think better pass the way the world de think?

11. Who Moses allow make e direct or control the way e de think, and wetin be the result?

¹¹ For Bible time, faithful servants of Jehovah know say na the way Jehovah de think better pass. For example, Moses go school well-well and e learn “all the things wey people of Egypt know.” Even with that one, e still beg God for “heart wey get better sense.” (Acts 7:22; Ps. 90:12) Moses still beg say: “Make me know your ways.” (Ex. 33:13) Because Moses allow Jehovah to direct or control the way e de think, Jehovah use Moses to do wonderful things to make the things wey e want happen. And na e make Bible talk say Moses na person wey e get strong faith.​—Heb. 11:24-27.

¹² Apostle Paul go school well-well, e sabi book, and e fit speak Hebrew and Greek. (Acts 5:34; 21:37, 39; 22:2, 3) But, when e reach time to decide wetin dey right or wrong, e no follow the sense of this world. Instead, e allow God’s Word to direct e thinking. 13. Which person hand e dey to make our thinking be like Jehovah own?

¹³ True-true, the way God de think better pass the way the world de think. If we accept the way Jehovah de think and follow e direction, we go dey happy pass, and we go succeed for life. But Jehovah no go force us to accept and follow the way e de think. “The faithful and discreet slave” no de control the thinking of each of us, and even the elders too no de do like that. (Matt. 24:45; 2 Cor. 1:24) Instead, na each Christian hand e dey to de think and live e life so that e go be like the way God de think. But, how we fit do that one?

14, 15. (a) If we want to de think the way Jehovah de think, wetin we go de think deep about? (b) As Romans 12:2 talk, why we no go allow worldly thinking to enter our mind? Give example.

¹⁴ Romans 12:2 talk say make we ‘stop to de allow make this world of our time mold us, but make we de change how we de think and the kind person wey we be, so that we fit prove to ourself say we de do wetin good’ for God eye and things wey e accept. This Bible verse teach us say, no matter how we de think before we learn the truth, e dey possible say we fit change and start to think the way God de think. The truth be say, our family background or our experience fit don change our thinking even though na small. But our mind fit change. Wetin go bring this change na the things wey we de allow to enter our mind or things wey we choose to think about. So when we de think deep about the way Jehovah de think, this one go help us dey sure say na the way Jehovah de think dey right. Then e go just dey easy for us to de think the way Jehovah de think.

¹⁵ But, for us to fit change the way we de think and think like Jehovah, we need to “stop to de allow make this world of our time mold” us. This one mean say we must stop to de look, think or talk about anything wey dey against the way God de think. To show how important this first point dey, make we use food as example to explain-am. Person fit decide to de chop better food so that e no go de sick everytime. But that one fit work if e de always chop rotten food? No! Na so e still be if we de learn about Jehovah and still de allow worldly thinking to enter our mind. We no go get any benefit at all.

16. We need to protect ourself from wetin?

¹⁶ E dey possible say no worldly thinking go come our mind at all? The answer na no! Because we dey this world, and we no fit comot. (1 Cor. 5:9, 10) Our preaching work go make us meet some people wey get different-different wrong belief about God. So, since we no fit run comot from all the ideas of this world, make we no listen or accept them. Just like Jesus, make we quick-quick reject any idea or thinking wey Satan go want use deceive us. Another thing be say, we go dey careful so that we no go do things with the world anyhow. We go do things with them only when we really need to do-am.​—Read Proverbs 4:23.

17. Which ways we fit protect our mind so that the bad thinking of this world no go poison-am?

¹⁷ For example, we go dey careful when we want choose people wey they go be our tight friends. Bible talk say if we dey tight with people wey they no de serve Jehovah, the way them de think go affect us. (Prov. 13:20; 1 Cor. 15:12, 32, 33) We go still dey careful and choose well when we want select things wey we go like do to relax and enjoy ourself like, book, film, game wey we go play, and other things. If we  reject anything wey e de support evolution, fight-fight, or sex matter wey God hate, we de protect ourself from anything wey e fit poison our mind. And we no go accept any idea wey e dey “against the knowledge of God.”​—2 Cor. 10:5.

18, 19. (a) Why we need to really dey careful and know the teachings of this world even when they no do-am make e dey clear? (b) Which questions we go ask ourself, and why?

¹⁸ We go still try to know and understand worldly thinking even for small-small things, so that we go quickly reject-am. For example, they fit read news report for some way wey e de support one particular party for politics. Some news report wey e de sweet people to hear fit be the one wey e de support politics and things wey people don use their power and sense do for life. Some films and books de promote the idea of “me first” and “family first.” Them de make this idea look like say na better thing, they make-am sweet for eye, even do-am like say na the right thing. This idea dey against wetin Bible talk. Bible talk say we go get better life and our family go dey happy, only when we love Jehovah pass any other thing. (Matt. 22:36-39) Another thing be say, some children film, cartoon and story book no bad, but some of them fit get some kind things inside wey e fit make children de think about sex matter wey God hate.

¹⁹ This one no mean say e bad to read book, watch film, play game, or do other things to relax and enjoy ourself. But we go make sure say e no dey against the way Jehovah de think. E good make we ask ourself this questions: ‘We know the teachings of this world even when them no do-am make e dey clear? We de protect ourself and our children from some TV programs or books? We de help our children to think the way Jehovah de think, so that worldly ideas wey them de hear and see no go poison their mind?’ If we know the difference between God’s thinking and the thinking of the world, we go fit “stop to de allow make this world of our time mold” us.

20. Wetin go show whether we de allow Jehovah to mold our thinking or this world?

²⁰ We must remember say, na only two things fit mold our thinking. Things wey Jehovah de teach and worldly ideas. So, na who we go allow make e mold our thinking? Jehovah or this world? If we de accept ideas from this world, e mean say we de allow the world to mold our thinking. And this one go make us de think and do things like people for the world. Na e make e dey important make we dey careful to choose the kind things wey we go think about.
