Make You No Fear—Na Jehovah De Help You

I no go ever leave you, and I no go ever abandon you.”—HEB. 13:5.

SONG 55 No Fear Them!

WETIN WE GO LEARN? *

1. Wetin go give us comfort when we feel say we dey alone or our problem don pass us? (Psalm 118:5-7)

YOU don ever feel say nobody help you endure problem wey you face? Plenty people don feel like that, even people wey serve Jehovah well. (1 Ki. 19:14) If you don ever feel like that, make you remember the promise wey Jehovah give, say: “I no go ever leave you, and I no go ever abandon you.” So we fit talk with full trust say: “Na Jehovah de help me, I no go fear.” (Heb. 13:5, 6) Na around 61 C.E. apostle Paul write wetin dey that Bible verse to Christians for Judea. The thing wey Paul write make us remember wetin dey Psalm 118:5-7.—Read-am.

2. Wetin we go talk about for this article, and why?

2 Just like wetin dey for Psalm 118, Paul know say na Jehovah de help-am because Jehovah don help-am plenty times before. For example, Paul survive strong wind with heavy rain when e travel for sea one time. This one happen more than two years before e write the letter to the Hebrews. (Acts 27:4, 15, 20) Before Paul travel and throughout the whole journey, Jehovah help Paul for different ways. We go talk about three of this ways. Jehovah use Jesus and the angels help Paul, people for high position, and brothers and sisters for congregation. As we de talk about the things wey happen to Paul, this one go make us get more trust say God go still hear us when we pray make e help us, as e don promise.

HELP WEY JESUS AND THE ANGELS DE GIVE

3. Wetin Paul fit don think, and why?

3 Paul need help. Around the year 56 C.E., some people drag Paul go outside the temple for Jerusalem and they try to kill-am. The next day, when they bring Paul come Sanhedrin, e enemies don nearly kill-am. (Acts 21:30-32; 22:30; 23:6-10) E fit be say that time, Paul don de talk for e mind say, ‘How long I go fit endure this suffer?’

4. How Jehovah use Jesus help Paul?

4 How Jesus help Paul? The night after they arrest Paul, Jesus wey be “the Lord,” stand near-am and talk say: “No fear! Because as you don preach well about me for Jerusalem, na so you go still preach about me for Rome.” (Acts 23:11) This encouragement come for the right time! Jesus praise Paul as e preach for Jerusalem. Jesus still promise Paul say e go reach Rome alive, and e go preach for there too. After Paul receive this promise, e mind go don come down like pikin wey e papa draw near body.

When heavy rain de fall with strong breeze for sea, one angel de encourage Paul say everybody for the ship go survive the hard journey (Check paragraph 5)

5. How Jehovah use angel help Paul? (Check picture for front cover.)

5 Which other problems Paul face? About two years after the things wey happen to Paul for Jerusalem, Paul dey inside one ship wey de go Italy when strong breeze and heavy rain start. The condition bad sotey the people for inside the ship think say they go die. But, Paul no fear. Why? E tell everybody for the ship say: “For night, the angel of the God wey I de worship, and wey get me, stand near me, e tell me say: ‘Paul, make you no fear. You must stand for the front of Caesar. See! God go save you and all the people wey dey the ship with you.’” Jehovah don use angel to repeat the promise wey e use Jesus give Paul before. And true-true, Paul reach Rome.—Acts 27:20-25; 28:16.

6. Which promise Jesus make wey fit give us power, and why?

6 How Jesus de help us today? Jesus go support us as e support Paul. For example, Jesus promise all e followers say: “I dey with wuna all the days until the ending part of the time.” (Matt. 28:20) The thing wey Jesus talk de give us power. Why? Na because e no de easy for us to endure sometimes. For example, when person wey we love die, we no just de feel the pain for some days but we fit even feel-am for many years. Some days no de easy for some people because of old age. And some days de really bad for some people because nothing de give them joy for life. But, we still de endure because we know say Jesus dey with us “all the days,” even for the days wey worse pass for our life.—Matt. 11:28-30.

Angels de support and guide us as we de preach (Check paragraph 7)

7. As e dey for Revelation 14:6, how Jehovah de help us today?

7 Bible make us know say Jehovah de use e angels help us. (Heb. 1:7, 14) For example, angels de support and guide us as we de preach the “good news about the Kingdom” to people “for every country, and tribe and language.”—Matt. 24:13, 14; read Revelation 14:6.

HELP WEY PEOPLE FOR HIGH POSITION DE GIVE

8. How Jehovah use one military commander help Paul?

8 How they help Paul? For the year 56 C.E., Jesus promise Paul say e go reach Rome. But, some Jews for Jerusalem don already plan to attack Paul and kill-am. When the Roman military commander wey e name na Claudius Lysias hear about the plan, e help Paul. Claudius quick-quick send plenty soldiers to protect Paul and take-am go Caesarea. The road wey they pass dey about 65 miles (105 km) from Jerusalem. For Caesarea, Governor Felix give order say make soldiers de watch Paul for Herod palace. So, the Jews wey want kill Paul before, no fit kill-am again.—Acts 23:12-35.

9. How Governor Festus help Paul?

9 After two years, Paul still dey for prison for Caesarea. That time, Festus don replace Felix as governor. The Jew people beg Festus to bring Paul come Jerusalem make they judge-am, but Festus no gree. E fit be say the governor don already know say the Jew people ‘plan to attack Paul and kill-am for road.’—Acts 24:27–25:5.

10. Wetin Governor Festus do when Paul talk say e want make Caesar judge e case?

10 After, they judge Paul for Caesarea. “Because Festus want make Jew people like-am,” e ask Paul say: “You go like go Jerusalem make they judge you for my front for there about this things?” Paul know say they fit kill-am for Jerusalem, and e still know wetin e fit do to save e life, to reach Rome, and continue to preach. Then Paul talk say: “I want make Caesar hear my case!” After Festus don talk with e advisers, e tell Paul say: “As you say you want go meet Caesar; you must go meet Caesar.” As Festus decide to send Paul go Rome, this one save Paul from the hand of e enemies. Paul go reach Rome small time, and e go don dey far from the Jew people wey de try to kill-am.—Acts 25:6-12.

11. Which thing Isaiah write wey Paul go don think about?

11 As Paul de wait for the time wey e go start e journey go Italy, e fit don think about the warning wey prophet Isaiah tell people wey dey against Jehovah. Jehovah tell Isaiah to write say: “Plan anything, and e go scatter! Talk wetin you like, but e no go work. Na so because God dey with us!” (Isa. 8:10) Paul know say God go help-am, and this one go don give-am power to face the problems wey de come.

As Jehovah don do before, e fit use people for high position to protect e servants today (Check paragraph 12)

12. How Julius treat Paul, and wetin this one fit don make Paul know?

12 For the year 58 C.E., Paul start e journey to Italy. Because Paul na prisoner, they put one Roman army officer wey e name na Julius make e de watch Paul. From that time, Julius get the power to treat Paul well or to make life tire-am. So, how e go use this power wey e get? The next day, when they reach the first place wey they stop, “Julius treat Paul well” and e allow-am “make e go visit e friends.” After, Julius even save Paul life. How e do this one? The soldiers be want kill all the prisoners wey dey inside the ship, but Julius no allow them do-am. Why? E “really want make Paul dey alive.” Maybe Paul know say na Jehovah de use this officer to help and protect-am.—Acts 27:1-3, 42-44.

Check paragraph 13

13. How Jehovah fit use people for high position?

13 How we de get help today? If na wetin Jehovah want, e fit use e powerful holy spirit to make people for high position do the things wey e want. See wetin King Solomon write: “The heart of king be like river for the hand of Jehovah. E de direct-am go anywhere wey E want.” (Prov. 21:1) Wetin this proverb mean? People fit dig hole wey be like big gutter so that the water from river go fit flow go the direction wey they want make e go. For the same way, Jehovah fit use e spirit to make people for high position do wetin e want. When e happen like that, people for high position go want make decision wey go benefit servants of Jehovah.—Compare Ezra 7:21, 25, 26.

14. With wetin dey Acts 12:5, who we fit pray about?

14 Wetin we fit do? We fit pray “for kings and everybody for high position” when this people make decision wey affect our life as Christian and our preaching work. (1 Tim. 2:1, 2, ftn.; Neh. 1:11) Like Christians for apostles their time, make we really de pray to God for our brothers and sisters wey dey prison. (Read Acts 12:5; Heb. 13:3) Apart from that one, we fit pray about the prison guards wey de watch our brothers and sisters for the prison. We fit beg Jehovah make e change the mind of this people so that they fit do like Julius and treat our brothers and sisters for prison “well,” or for kind way.—Check study note for Acts 27:3.

HELP WEY BROTHERS AND SISTERS FOR CONGREGATION DE GIVE

15-16. How Jehovah use Aristarchus and Luke help Paul?

15 How they help Paul? When Paul go Rome, plenty times, Jehovah use brothers and sisters to help-am. Make we see some examples.

16 Two better friends wey Paul get, wey their name na Aristarchus and Luke, decide say they go follow Paul travel go Rome. * Bible no talk say Jesus promise Aristarchus and Luke say they go reach Rome alive. So they put their life for danger as they follow Paul travel. But them dey ready to help Paul. Na only after, when they don start the hard journey, they know say they go survive. So, when Aristarchus and Luke enter the ship for Caesarea, Paul go don pray from e heart and thank Jehovah as E use this two men wey get strong heart help-am.—Acts 27:1, 2, 20-25.

17. How Jehovah use brothers for congregation to help Paul?

17 As Paul de travel, brothers for congregation help-am plenty times. For example, when they stop for one city wey them de call Sidon, Julius allow Paul make e go visit e Christian brothers and “enjoy their care.” And after, for one city wey them de call Puteoli, Paul and e friends ‘see brothers and they beg them make them dey with them for seven days.’ As the brothers for this place them de care for Paul and e friends, Paul go don make this brothers happy as e de encourage them with the things wey e don experience. (Compare Acts 15:2, 3.) After Paul and e friends don enjoy the better visit, they continue their journey.—Acts 27:3; 28:13, 14.

Like Paul, Jehovah de use our brothers and sisters de help us (Check paragraph 18)

18. Wetin make Paul thank God and get strong heart?

18 As Paul de waka reach Rome, e go don de think about the letter wey e write to the congregation for that city, three years before this time. E write say: “For many years e don de really hungry me to come see wuna.” (Rom. 15:23) But, e no expect say e go enter prison when e reach there. Paul go don really dey strong when e see say brothers from Rome de wait for the road to greet-am! Bible talk say: “When Paul see them, e thank God and e heart strong.” (Acts 28:15) Notice say Paul thank God when e see the brothers for there. Why? Na because Paul don see again say Jehovah de use the brothers for congregation to help-am.

Check paragraph 19

19. As e dey for 1 Peter 4:10, how Jehovah fit use us help people wey need help?

19 Wetin we fit do? You know any brother or sister for your congregation wey de suffer because e de sick or e get other problems? Or maybe the person wey e love die. If we hear say person need help, make we tell Jehovah to help us talk or do something wey go encourage the person. Wetin we talk and do fit be the thing wey the brother or sister need. (Read 1 Peter 4:10.) * If we help them, they fit trust this promise again from Jehovah, “I no go ever leave you, and I no go ever abandon you.” And they go see say this promise na for them. That one no go really make you dey happy?

20. Why we fit talk with full trust say: “Na Jehovah de help me”?

20 Like Paul and e friends, we fit de face problems for life wey be like strong breeze with heavy rain. Even with that one, we know say Jehovah dey with us, so we no de fear. E de use Jesus and the angels to help us. And if na wetin Jehovah want, e fit use people for high position to help us. As plenty of us don experience-am before, Jehovah de use e holy spirit to move our brothers and sisters make they help us. So, like Paul, we get better reason to talk with full trust say: “Na Jehovah de help me, I no go fear. Wetin person fit do to me?”—Heb. 13:6.

SONG 38 God Go Make You Strong
