The agreement still make-am possible for them to form one organization wey they call League of Nations. The plan wey this organization get na “to make different-different country work together well and bring peace for the world and make the world dey safe.” Plenty religion wey claim say them de follow Christ support this organization. For example, one group wey the name na Federal Council of the Churches of Christ for America praise-am as “the Kingdom of God for this earth.” This group show say they support the League of Nations when they send their people go the meeting for Paris Peace Conference. One of this people wey they send talk say the meeting na “the beginning of new things wey the world never see before.”

Na true say new things want begin happen, but the people for that peace meeting no go get hand for this one. For 1919, new things begin happen for our preaching work when Jehovah give e people power to preach for way wey they never preach before. But before that one happen, the Bible Students need to make important change.

Time reach for Saturday, January 4, 1919 to do the meeting wey them de do every year to choose the directors of Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. That time, Joseph F. Rutherford and seven other brothers dey for prison for Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. Na Brother Rutherford de direct the work that time, and they no do anything before they arrest them. The question now be say, Make they still choose this brothers for prison as directors or make they do election to replace them?

Brother Rutherford de worry about the future of the organization for the prison wey e dey. E know say some brothers de feel say the best thing na to choose another person as president. Because of this one, e come write letter to the people for the meeting, say e for like make Evander J. Coward be president. Brother Rutherford describe Brother Coward as “calm,” “wise” and “faithful person to the Lord.” But, many other brothers want different thing. They want make the date of the election shift go front till after six months. Some group  of brothers agree. Before this time, this group of brothers don defend the other brothers wey they put for prison. As the discussion continue, some brothers begin vex.

Then something happen. One brother for the meeting tell everybody say: “I no be lawyer, but if situation na about to do the right thing, I know wetin e mean to support person no matter how things be. Na the thing wey God want be that. The best way wey we fit show say we hold God tight na to do election and choose Brother Rutherford again as president.” (Ps. 18:25) After, Richard H. Barber talk about wetin happen, e say wetin that brother talk just be like water wey person use quench fire.

One of the brothers for prison wey e name na A. H. Macmillan remember say Brother Rutherford knock the wall of e prison cell and talk say, “Bring your hand come outside.” Then e give Brother Macmillan one letter about the result of people wey the brothers don choose. As Brother Macmillan see the message, e just know wetin the message mean. The message na: “RUTHERFORD WISE VAN BARBER ANDERSON BULLY AND SPILL DIRECTOR FIRST THREE OFFICERS LOVE TO ALL.” This one mean say they don choose all the directors again and say Joseph Rutherford go continue as president, and William Van Amburgh as secretary-treasurer.

The Bible Students begin give people something to sign to show say they want make government release the eight brothers for prison. This brothers and sisters really show say they get strong heart. They gather more than 700,000 signature. For Wednesday, March 26, 1919 before they submit wetin people sign, they don release the brothers from prison.

People welcome Brother Rutherford and e come tell them say: “More hard time de come and I dey sure say this thing wey all of us don experience na just to prepare us for that time. . . . The struggle wey wuna struggle no be to release wuna brothers from prison. That one no be really the main thing. . . . The struggle wey wuna don de struggle since, na to bring praise to Jehovah, and if your hand dey inside, you don receive better blessing.”

The way things happen when our brothers de face this test that time, fit show say na Jehovah direct the way things go. Court look the matter again and for May 14, 1919, the court pass judgement about the brothers say: “This people for this matter . . . , no receive the correct judgement wey they suppose to get. Partial dey the way they judge their case, and because of this one the judgement go change.” They first judge the brothers say they do serious bad things. And na so bad name for follow the brothers if to say court only forgive them or if to say the court only reduce their punishment. They no talk say the brothers do any other bad thing. Because of this one, Judge Rutherford still continue e work as lawyer and continue to defend Jehovah’s people for Supreme Court of United States. Brother Rutherford do this one plenty times after e don come out from prison.

Brother Macmillan talk the way things be that time, say: “We no go just sit-down and fold our hand de wait for the Lord make e take us go heaven. We see say we suppose to do something so that we fit go know the thing wey the Lord really want.”

But the brothers for headquarters no go fit just continue the work wey them don de do for many years. Why? Na because when them dey for prison, people scatter all the things wey them de use print publications, wey them de call printing plates. This thing make them tire, and some brothers begin think say the preaching work don end.

Anybody still get interest for the Kingdom message wey the Bible Students de preach? To answer that question, Brother Rutherford decide say e go give one talk. They invite everybody come the talk. Brother Macmillan talk say: “If nobody come that meeting, we go know say the preaching work don end.”

So, for Sunday, May 4, 1919, Brother Rutherford give the talk for the city of Los Angeles, California. The topic na “The Hope for Distressed Humanity.” Even though say Brother Rutherford de really sick, e still give the talk. About 3,500 people come hear the talk, and space no even dey enough for plenty other people. The next day, another 1,500 people come the meeting. Now, the brothers don get answer to their question, and the answer be say people get interest for the message!

The next thing wey the brothers do na example wey Jehovah Witness people de still do for their preaching work until today.

The Watch Tower of August 1, 1919, announce say for the starting of September, they go do convention for one place wey them de call Cedar Point, Ohio for U.S.A. One young Bible Student that time, from Missouri, remember wetin happen. E name na Clarence B. Beaty. E talk say: “Everybody just feel  say they need to go there.” More than 6,000 brothers and sisters come the convention. This number even pass the number wey they expect. Another thing still make the convention sweet. And the thing be say more than 200 people baptize for one river wey the name na Lake Erie. The river no too far from the place wey the convention dey.

The number 5 day of the convention fall for September 5, 1919. That day, Brother Rutherford handle one part wey the name na “Address to Co-laborers.” For the part, Brother Rutherford announce say they go de produce one new magazine wey the name na The Golden Age. * The news wey the magazine go “carry, go be the latest important news, and e go explain from Bible why this things de happen.”

They encourage all the Bible Students to use this new publication preach with strong heart. One letter talk about how they go do the work. The letter talk say make each baptize person “remember say na big blessing to serve, and make they use the opportunity now and do everything to preach for the whole world.” Plenty people really accept this invitation! When the month of December reach, people don request more than 50,000 new magazine from the publishers.

When the end of 1919 reach, Jehovah’s people arrange theirself again and they get power to do the work. Apart from that one, different-different things wey Bible talk about the last days don happen. Malachi 3:1-4 talk say Jehovah’s people go pass through test and they go better pass as them dey before. The thing wey that verse talk happen.
