The village na about 11 kilometers (7 miles) from Jerusalem. Them no de happy because their enemy don kill Jesus wey be their leader. Them be get for mind say Jesus wey be Messiah go do wonderful things for Jew people, but now e don die. But something wey them no expect happen.

² One man come meet them for road and start to waka with them. The disciples tell the man the bad things wey their enemy do to Jesus. Then the man start to tell them things wey them no go ever forget. E tell them why the Messiah need to suffer and die, and “na the things wey Moses and all the Prophets write e start from.” When the three of them reach Emmaus, them see say the man wey them don de talk to na Jesus wey God don bring back to life. Just think about how the disciples happy when them know say Jesus don come back to life!—Luke 24:​13-35.

5. Why Jesus disciples need encouragement?

⁵ Jesus disciples need encouragement. Why? Because some of them don leave their house, family, and business to follow Jesus. (Matt. 19:27) People treat some of them for bad way because them don become Jesus disciples. (John 9:22) Them ready to be Jesus disciple and suffer because them believe say Jesus na the Messiah wey Jehovah promise say go come. (Matt. 16:16) But when them kill Jesus, this one really make them sad because them no know wetin go happen next.

6. Wetin Jesus do when e come back to life?

⁶ Jesus know say e dey normal for im disciples to feel bad when e die. And e know say the reason why them de feel bad no be because them no get faith. So, the same day wey e come back to life, e start to encourage them. For example, Jesus appear to Mary Magdalene as e de cry for the place wey them bury Jesus. (John 20:​11, 16) E still appear to the two disciples wey we talk about before, when them de travel go Emmaus. And e appear to apostle Peter. (Luke 24:34) Wetin we fit learn from Jesus example? Make we see wetin happen when e appear to Mary Magdalene.

⁷ Read John 20:​11-16. For morning for Nisan 16, some women go where them bury Jesus. (Luke 24:1, 10) One of the women na  Mary Magdalene. When Mary reach the place wey them bury Jesus, e see say Jesus body no dey there. So e run go tell Peter and John. As Peter and John de run go there, Mary run follow them. When them reach there, them see say true-true Jesus body no dey there, so them go back to their house. But Mary no go back. E stay there and start to cry. E no know say Jesus de see wetin de happen. Jesus see as this woman de cry and this one really touch-am. So e appear to Mary and do something wey really encourage-am. E talk to-am and give-am one important work to do. ⁸ How we fit copy Jesus example? We de copy Jesus example when we de encourage our brothers and sisters to continue to worship Jehovah. Like Jesus, we need to de see the problem wey our brothers and sisters de face, try to understand how them de feel and comfort them. Make we see example of one sister wey im name na Jocelyn, wey im younger sister die for accident. E talk say: “I just de feel bad everytime for many months.” But, one brother and im wife invite Sister Jocelyn to their house, and allow-am explain how e de feel. Them take time listen to-am, treat-am for kind way and tell-am say Jehovah really value-am. Sister Jocelyn talk say: “That time, I just feel like say I de sink inside water, but Jehovah use this brother and im wife save my life. Wetin them do encourage me and help me fit continue to serve Jehovah.” We too fit encourage others if we allow them talk how them de feel and we take time listen to them. If we do like that, we go fit comfort them and help them fit continue to worship Jehovah.—Rom. 12:15.

HELP OTHERS TO UNDERSTAND BIBLE

9. Which problem Jesus disciples face, and how Jesus help them?

⁹ Jesus disciples believe the Word of God and do their best to obey Jehovah. (John 17:6) But them no understand why them kill Jesus like thief. Jesus know say im disciples get faith and them love Jehovah, but them still need to understand the Word of God more. (Luke 9:​44, 45; John 20:9) So e help them understand wetin them don read for God Word. See how e do this one when e appear to the two disciples wey e meet for road as them de go Emmaus.

¹² When Brother Nortey dey 16 years, e start to study Bible. But small time after e start to study, im family start to suffer-am. Wetin help-am fit continue im Bible study? The brother wey de study Bible with-am don discuss with-am before, wetin dey Matthew chapter 10 and show-am say people go suffer true Christians. Brother Nortey talk say: “So when them start to suffer me, e make me dey sure say I don see the truth.” The brother still show-am Matthew 10:16 wey show say we need to de use our sense well. The brother help Nortey see how this verse fit help-am show respect to im family when e de explain wetin e believe. After Nortey baptize, e want pioneer, but im papa want make e go university.
