⁵ Another way to “come meet” Jesus na when we go meet the elders for congregation if we need help. Jesus de use this men wey e don give as “gift” to care for e sheep. (Eph. 4:7, 8, 11; John 21:16; 1 Pet. 5:1-3) We must try hard to go meet them for help. Make we no expect say the elders go know wetin dey inside our mind and know the thing wey we need. ⁶ When Jesus talk say: “Carry my yoke,” maybe wetin e mean na “Accept my authority.” The thing wey e talk fit still mean say “Enter under the yoke with me, make me and you work for Jehovah together.” Whether na the first one Jesus mean or na the second one, the yoke * mean say we need to work.

7. According to Matthew 28:18-20, which work they don give us to do, and wetin we fit dey sure of?

(Matt. 12:9-14) But Jesus de show love and e dey humble. The Pharisees like make people know them and high position dey important to them for community. But Jesus talk say that kind character no good. E teach e disciples make them dey humble and do things for other people. (Matt. 23:2, 6-11) The Pharisees de fit control the people because the people de fear  say the Pharisees fit do them something if they no obey them. (John 9:13, 22) But Jesus encourage people with the love wey e show them and the better word wey e de talk.

(Heb. 6:10) And e de give us the power wey we need to do the work wey e don give us. (2 Cor. 4:7; Gal. 6:5, ftn.) Jesus, our King, don show us the best example of how to treat people. (John 13:15) And na Jesus, “the better shepherd,” elders de try to copy as them de care for us. (Heb. 13:20; 1 Pet. 5:2) Them de try their best to encourage us, dey kind with us, and get strong heart as them de teach and protect us.

¹⁴ We get the best friends. No other people get the kind better friends and fine work wey we get. Just think-am: The brothers and sisters wey we de work with get the best kind of character but they no de feel say they better pass other people. They sabi plenty things, but they no de make mouth about-am. For their eye, other people better pass them. They no just de see us as people wey them de work with. They still de see us as friends. And the love wey they get for us strong sotey they ready to die for us!

15. How we suppose to feel about the work wey we de do?

¹⁵ We get the best work. We de teach people the truth about Jehovah and de expose the lie-lie wey Devil don talk. (John 8:44) The lie-lie wey Satan don make people believe be like heavy load wey e don put for their head. And this people no fit carry-am. For example, e want make we believe say Jehovah no go fit forgive us our sins and say e no go fit love us. This lie na really big lie! E de make people feel say they no get hope. When we “come meet” Jesus Christ, God go forgive our sins. And the truth be say, the love wey God get for all of us  na strong love. (Rom. 8:32, 38, 39) Na big blessing for us to help people learn how to trust Jehovah and for us to see the way their life de better!

16. How the load wey Jesus tell us make we carry dey different from other load wey we must carry?

¹⁶ The load wey Jesus talk say make we carry dey different from other load wey we must carry. For example, after many people don close from work, they no de only tire but they no go still dey happy. But no be so e be after we don work for Jehovah and Jesus. After we don spend time to work for them, we de really happy. Maybe we over tire after we close from work that day and we need to force ourself go congregation meeting that evening. But many times, when we come back from meeting our mind de come down and we de get power again. The same thing de happen when we preach and do personal Bible study. When we struggle to do-am, we de strong again and our mind de come down!

17. Why e good make we really know our situation and dey careful?

¹⁷ We must know say na only some amount of energy each of us get. So we must dey careful about the kind work wey we want accept. For example, we fit waste energy as we de try to gather plenty money and property. Think about the answer wey Jesus give one rich young man when e ask Jesus say: “Wetin I go do make I fit get everlasting life?” The young man don already de obey the Law. This man fit be good man. Na so because when Mark write about this story for Bible, e talk say Jesus come “love the man.” Jesus invite the young man say: “Go, sell the things wey you get . . . and come de follow me.” The man be want follow Jesus, but e no fit leave the “plenty property” wey e get. (Mark 10:17-22) Because of that one, e reject the yoke wey Jesus want make e carry and e continue to slave “for money.” (Matt. 6:24) If na you, which one you for choose?

18. Wetin we need to always think about, and why?

¹⁸ Na good thing for us to always de think about the thing wey we de put as number one thing for our life. Why? So that we fit dey sure say we de use our power well. Think about wetin one young man wey e name na Mark talk. E say: “For many years, I think say I de live simple life. I de pioneer, but I de always think about how to make money and better my life more-more. I come de wonder why my life don be like heavy load. Then I come see say, I de put the things wey I want as number one thing for my life and na my remaining time and energy I de give Jehovah.” Mark change the way e de think and de live e life so that e fit begin do more for Jehovah. Mark talk say: “Sometimes, I de really think about money, but Jehovah de help me and Jesus de support me. I don succeed to handle my problems.”

19. Why e dey important make we de see things for correct way?

¹⁹ We go continue to get power under the yoke of Jesus if we do three things. Number one, de always see things for correct way. Na Jehovah get the work wey we de do, so we must do the work the way Jehovah want make we do-am. Na we be the workers, and na Jehovah be the Master. (Luke 17:10) If we try to do the work as we like, we go make things dey very hard for ourself. Even when bull dey powerful, e fit wound e self and over tire. This one fit happen if the bull de always try to go e own direction, instead of the direction wey the master de use the yoke control-am to go.  But if we do Jehovah’s work the way Jehovah want, we go fit do things wey we no first think say we fit do; and we go fit handle hard situation. Remember say, nobody go fit stop Jehovah make e no do the things wey e want do!​—Rom. 8:31; 1 John 4:4.

20. Wetin go be our reason to enter under the yoke of Jesus?

²⁰ Number two, work with the correct reason. Our reason na to bring praise to Jehovah, our Papa. When Jesus dey this earth, some people de think about only theirself and de always want benefit theirself. But after small time, they stop to get joy and they stop to carry the yoke of Jesus. (John 6:25-27, 51, 60, 66; Phil. 3:18, 19) But some other people that time dey different. They no think about only theirself and they love God and their neighbor. This one make them happy as they carry the yoke throughout their life for earth. They get the hope to work with Jesus Christ for heaven. Like this ones, we too go dey happy if na the correct reason make us carry the yoke wey Jesus give us.

21. According to Matthew 6:31-33, wetin we fit expect say Jehovah go do?

²¹ Number three, expect the correct thing. We don choose to leave things and use our life to work hard for God. Jesus warn us say people go suffer us. But we fit dey sure say Jehovah go give us power make we fit endure any problem. The more we de endure, the more we de strong. (Jas. 1:2-4) Make we still expect say, Jehovah go give us wetin we need, Jesus go care for us, and our brothers and sisters go encourage us. (Read Matthew 6:31-33; John 10:14; 1 Thess. 5:11) True-true, we get everything wey we need to endure any problem!
