Them born me for 1934. My papa and mama come from Switzerland, but them come start to stay for Timmins. Timmins na one town for Ontario for Canada. For around 1939, my mama start to read Watchtower and start to go Jehovah Witness people meeting. Na six children my papa and mama born, and my mama de carry all of us go Kingdom Hall. E no tey my mama become Jehovah Witness.

My papa no happy as my mama become Jehovah Witness. But my mama like wetin e don learn and e make up im mind say e no go ever leave Jehovah. For 1940, them ban Jehovah Witness people work for Canada. But even with that one, my mama continue to hold Jehovah tight. My mama de always respect my papa and treat-am well, even though say my papa de tell-am bad things wey go really pain-am. My mama better example make all of us wey be im children begin serve Jehovah. We happy well-well when my papa later change the way e de behave and no come de treat us for bad way again.

For 1950, I attend one assembly for New York City. The title of the assembly na, Theocracy’s Increase. For the assembly, I meet brothers and sisters wey come from different part of the world. And I still listen to the story of different brothers and sisters wey graduate from Gilead School! This one move me to want do more as I de serve Jehovah. E come de hungry me pass before to pioneer. As I come back from the assembly, I fill regular pioneer form. The branch office for Canada come answer me say, e go good make I baptize  first. So I baptize for October 1, 1950. One month after I baptize, I become regular pioneer, and the first place wey them send me go na Kapuskasing. The place far well-well from where my family de stay.

For 1951, branch office come talk say them de look for brothers and sisters wey sabi speak French, and wey ready to pack go the side of Quebec where them de speak French. Them really need people wey go go preach for there. I sabi speak English and French, so I talk say I go go, and them send me go Rouyn. But I no know anybody for there. I only know the address of the place wey I de go, and na that one I talk about for the beginning of this story. Things go well. Me and the brother wey I meet for there come become good friend. I preach for Quebec for four years and I really enjoy preaching for there. I later become special pioneer.

When I dey Quebec, I surprise no be small when them invite me to attend the 26th class of Gilead School, for South Lansing for New York. Na February 12, 1956 I graduate, and them send me go Ghana b wey dey for West Africa. But before I go Ghana, I go back to Canada so that I go fit do the paper wey go allow me travel go Ghana and de stay there. I be de think say na just two or three weeks them go take do-am.

But na seven months I wait for Toronto for Canada before the paper ready. For the time wey I de wait for the paper to ready, I stay with Brother Cripps and im family. Im daughter name na Sheila. The two of us come like each other. Na when I de plan to ask-am if e go marry me, my visa come. Me and Sheila pray about the matter and we decide say e go good make I first go Ghana wey Jehovah organization send me go. Two of us still decide say we go de write letter to each other, and we go wait to see if we go fit marry for future. To make this decision no easy for us at all, but we later see say na better decision we make.

When I de travel go Ghana, I travel with train, ship, and plane. And after one month, I finally reach Accra for Ghana. Them make me  district overseer for there. The work make me travel go different-different place for Ghana, Ivory Coast (them de call-am Côte d’Ivoire now), and Togoland (them de call-am Togo now). Most times na only me de travel go, and I de use the motor wey branch give me. E de sweet me no be small as I de travel go visit the brothers!

For weekend, I de go give talk for different-different circuit assembly. We no get Assembly Hall. So the brothers use bamboo and leaf build where brothers and sisters go de sitdown because of the hot sun. Because fridge or freezer no dey that time, the brothers and sisters de bring animals wey dey alive come the assembly, and when them need meat to take cook, them de take from the animals kill for there.

Some kind funny things happen that time for the assembly. E get one time wey Brother Herb Jennings c wey be missionary de give talk, when one cow run comot from where them keep-am. E begin run pass front of platform and near where people sitdown. The brother wey de give talk stop to talk as the cow run come out. And e be like say the cow self confuse. But four strong brothers manage to catch the cow and carry-am go back to where them de keep-am. This one make the brothers and sisters begin clap for them.

For the week of the assembly, I de go different-different village wey near where the assembly dey and de show people our video wey the title na, The New World Society in Action. To fit do this one, I de hang one thing wey be like white board for two pole or two tree. And as I de play the video, e go de show for the white board. The people for the village really like-am! Many of them never watch video or film before, so this one na the first film wey them de watch. You need to see how them de use all their power clap as them see people de baptize. The video help them see say Jehovah Witness people dey around the world, and say them de do things as one.

After I don spend two years for Africa, e sweet me well-well to attend one international convention wey them do for 1958, for New York City. That time, Sister Sheila don already de serve for Quebec as special pioneer. We happy to see each other for that convention. Na letter we don de use talk since, but now we fit see each other face-to-face. I ask-am if e go marry me, and e say, yes! I write letter to Brother Knorr d to ask-am if Sister Sheila fit attend Gilead School and come join me  for Africa. E gree. At last Sister Sheila come Ghana! We marry for October 3, 1959. We feel say Jehovah really bless us because we put im work as the number one thing for our life.

For 1961, them send us go Cameroon. Them send me to go form new branch office for there. Because of this one, I busy well-well. Since e be say na me be the overseer for the work, I get plenty things wey I need to learn. My wife get belle for 1965. E hard us to believe say just like that, we go become papa and mama. But we happy say we go become papa and mama. And as we de arrange to go back to Canada, something wey pain us reach bone happen to us.

The baby die when e still dey belle. Doctor tell us say the pikin wey die na boy. E don pass 50 years now wey this thing happen, but we no ever forget-am. Even though say wetin happen really pain us, we continue to do the work wey Jehovah give us and we like the work well-well.

Them suffer the brothers and sisters for Cameroon because them no de put hand for politics. And e even worse pass when people for the country de do election to vote for president. For May 13, 1970, wetin we no expect happen, them ban our work. Government collect the new fine branch office wey we just build. Na only five months we don use-am. E no reach one week, them pursue all the missionary comot from Cameroon plus me and my wife. E no easy at all for us to leave the brothers and sisters because we love them well-well, and we de think about wetin go happen to them.

We come go the branch office wey dey for France and we spend six months for there. From there I continue to do all the things wey I fit do to care for the brothers and sisters for Cameroon. That same year for December, them send us go Nigeria branch. And na this branch office de care for the brothers and sisters wey dey Cameroon. The brothers and sisters for Nigeria really open hand welcome us, and we enjoy the time wey we spend for there.

For 1973, e get one decision wey hard us well-well to make. One serious sickness don de worry my wife, and e don de try to bear-am for some time. When we go one convention for New York, my wife start to cry and e tell me say: “I no fit continue again! The sickness don too suffer me.” E don pass 14 years wey e don join me de do Jehovah work for West Africa. I really like how e don put body for Jehovah work, but as e be now, we go need to change some things. After we don pray well-well and talk about the matter, we decide say we go go back to Canada. We believe say e go get better treatment for there. To leave our missionary work na the decision wey don hard us pass to make.

When we reach Canada, I begin work with one of my friend wey I don know before. E de sell motor for one town for Toronto. We rent house, buy secondhand chair and other things. We no borrow money from anybody. We just want make our life dey simple so that if opportunity come  again, we go fit do Jehovah work as we de do before. E surprise us say the opportunity quick come pass as we think.

I decide to de join brothers and sisters wey de build one new Assembly Hall for Norval for Ontario, every Saturday. After some time, them make me Assembly Hall overseer. My wife condition start to de better, and we feel say e go fit handle the new work for the Assembly Hall. So for June 1974, we pack go de stay for inside the Assembly Hall. We really happy to start full-time service again!

We happy say my wife condition continue to de better. After two years, them make me circuit overseer. The circuit wey them give us dey one city for Canada wey them de call Manitoba. The place cold no be small. But we really enjoy the love wey the brothers and sisters show us for there. We learn say wetin dey important pass na for us to continue to serve Jehovah well, no be where we de serve.

After I don serve as circuit overseer for some years, them invite me and my wife to come work for Canada Bethel for 1978. Small time after we enter Bethel, I learn one better lesson. Them give me assignment to give one talk for Montreal for French language, and the talk go be for one hour thirty minutes. But the talk no sweet, and brothers and sisters no really enjoy-am. One brother for Service Department come tell me wetin I no do well for the talk. I no take im advice. The truth be say no be me sabi give talk pass. And I wish say I know this one that time. Our discussion no go well, and I vex because I think say na only wetin I no do well e de look for, and e no tell me wetin I do well for the talk. The mistake wey I make be say, I no accept the advice because I de put mind for the way e give the advice and because of wetin I de think about the brother wey give me the advice.

After some days, one brother wey be Branch Committee member talk to me about the matter. I agree say I no behave well when the brother advice me, and I tell-am sorry. Then I go meet the brother wey give me the advice and tell-am sorry. And the brother forgive me. This one teach me important lesson say I need to always carry body down, and I no go ever forget the lesson. (Prov. 16:18) I don pray many times to Jehovah say make e help me fit de carry body down, and I don make up my mind say I no go ever use bad eye look advice again.

E don pass 40 years now since I dey Canada Bethel, and since 1985, I don get the chance to be Branch Committee member. For February 2021, my dear wife Sheila, die. I miss my wife well-well, and apart from that one, I still de battle with sickness. But as I dey busy for Jehovah work and e de make me happy, I no de know when each day de pass. (Eccl. 5:20) Even though say I don face plenty problem for my life, the joy wey I get as I de serve Jehovah pass all of them. I don enjoy plenty blessing as I de put Jehovah first for my life. And I don dey for full-time service for 70 years now. My prayer be say make young brothers and sisters continue to put Jehovah as the number one Person for their life. And I dey sure say them go continue to enjoy the blessing and better life wey only Jehovah fit give.
