2020 Convention—Translators Succeed to Finish the Work Even As E Hard

When we talk about the story of Jehovah Witness for this time, the 2020 “Always Dey Happy”! Convention na one special part. We translate the program for more than 500 languages and people watch-am from any place wey them dey. For the translators, some problems be dey wey make-am hard to finish the work. They no really get all the things wey they go need to do the work and the time to finish-am really dey small.

One sister for the Kikuyu translation team for Kenya talk say: “Because the branch office dey for lockdown, na only small number of people dey inside with us to record the program. To solve this problem, we use Internet connect with other brothers and sisters from outside and they do the recording for us, even as them dey for house. Na big honor for us to see as Jehovah use e spirit to make this arrangement succeed.”

The problems wey Korean Sign Language translation team and Korean translation team face be like this one. People wey be de come from house everyday to work with the team, no fit come inside Bethel to help them do the recordings.

To solve this problem, the brothers make recording studio for their house. Brothers and sisters for congregation contribute the things wey they go need to fit make the studio. And because we no de gather together for assembly again, the branch office fit use some of the cameras from Assembly Halls to record the program for sign language.

For Venezuela, some translators struggle to get good Internet connection. Some no get tools wey they fit use for the work. But this translators think-am say they fit create tools for theirself. So they use anything wey their hand fit reach, to do the work. For example, the translators for one area use mattress to block noise as them de do the recording.

For Juba, South Sudan, one translator for the team wey de translate Zande language talk say: “When I first hear say we go record the whole convention program, I tell myself say, ‘E no fit dey possible! We no go fit use only two months record the whole convention program wey get more than 90 audio and video.’ Now wey we don finish the work, e make me really believe say nothing fit stop Jehovah make e no do e work. The way Jehovah de do e own thing really de surprise me!”—Matthew 19:26.

The 2020 “Always Dey Happy”! Convention program na gift from Jehovah. “E want make all kind of people get life and make they come learn the correct truth.”—1 Timothy 2:4.
