How We Do the 2020 Memorial—Asia
For Japan and South Korea, Our Brothers and Sisters Wey Their Body No Strong Attend the Program
Because of COVID-19, e hard for some of our brothers and sisters for hospitals and other place wey them de take care of people to do the Memorial. For many of them, they no fit comot for the place and they no allow anybody visit them. Even with all this problem, the elders for congregation help the brothers and sisters so that they go fit do this special occasion because e really dey important.
South Korea
For Naju City, Sister Lee Jeom-soon wey na 91 years old and Sister Kwon Ae-soon wey na 88 years old, with another old woman wey na 96 years old decide say they must do the Memorial. The old woman get interest for the message for Bible. For the place wey them de take care of them, one of the doctors na Jehovah Witness. After e don connect with e congregation from house to do the Memorial, e go back to the place wey e de work. E come help the two sisters and the other old woman so that they go fit watch the Memorial program for jw.org. The brother still bring the Memorial bread and wine for them.
For Uijeongbu City, Brother Choi Jae-cheol de work for place wey them de take care of old and sick people and 14 old brothers and sisters de live for there. Even as the disease de spread, our brother help the brothers and sisters wey de live for there and other people wey get interest for the Bible so that they go fit do the Memorial. All of them watch the Memorial program for video. And after, they start Bible study with some of the people wey attend the program.
Sister Kim Tae-sun na 59 years old and e de live for Cheonan. Na five years ago they tell Sister Kim say e get cancer. E dey for hospital now because e de feel serious pain. Another sister dey for the same hospital room with Sister Tae-sun. E name na Kim Jeong-mi and e be 69 years old. Sister Kim Jeong-mi get cancer too and e cancer no get cure. For this time wey disease de spread, our sisters no fit comot for the hospital. But the elders for their congregation help them so that they go fit connect with their congregation with video call to do the Memorial.
This two sisters write letter to thank the elders. They talk say: “We thank wuna as wuna help us to fit attend the Memorial and enjoy our time with brothers and sisters even as we dey sick and this COVID-19 disease de spread.”
Japan
They admit Sister Mieko Fujiwara for hospital. E be 70 years old and e de live for Mie Prefecture, for Japan. Internet no dey for the hospital wey our sister dey, so e no fit connect with the congregation for video call to do the Memorial. But before the time for Memorial, one elder and e wife don transfer the Memorial talk to Sister Mieko phone, so that e go fit hear the talk even as e dey for hospital.
For Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Sister Yuki Takeuchi wey na 102 years old de live for place wey them de take care of old and sick people. Before the Memorial time, the husband of e pikin and e wife send one small package to their mama. Na bread and wine for the Memorial dey inside. So when time for Memorial reach, e connect with them for phone and they do the Memorial together.
The husband of e pikin, Brother Mimura, talk say: “My wife mama do e baptism for 1954 and e never miss any Memorial. Na true say we no do this year Memorial as we de do-am before, but e still really dey happy say e fit attend.”
We dey sure say Jehovah see all the things wey our brothers and sisters wey their body no strong don do and the elders for their congregations, as they do all their best to attend the Memorial.—Hebrews 6:10.
