They Go Destroy This Earth?
The answer wey Bible give
No, they no go ever destroy this earth, burn-am for fire, or replace-am. Bible de teach say God make this earth make people de live inside forever.
“Na righteous people go stay for this earth, and them go stay inside forever.”—Psalm 37:29.
“[God] make the earth make e stand well for where e put-am; nothing go ever fit shake-am.”—Psalm 104:5.
“The earth go remain forever.”—Ecclesiastes 1:4.
“Na [God] form the earth. E make-am strong. E no just make-am for nothing, e want make people de stay for inside.”—Isaiah 45:18.
People go destroy the earth?
God no go allow make people destroy the earth finish with dirty things, war, or any other thing. Instead, e go “destroy people wey de destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) How e go do this one?
God go use e Kingdom for heaven replace governments for this world wey no fit protect the earth. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10) Na the Son of God, Jesus Christ, go rule that Kingdom. (Isaiah 9:6, 7) When Jesus dey this earth, e get power to control things for nature, like weather. (Mark 4:35-41) As King for the Kingdom of God, Jesus go get the power to control the whole earth and the things inside. E go make things new for the earth and the condition for this earth go be like the garden of Eden.—Matthew 19:28; Luke 23:43.
No be Bible de teach say they go burn this earth for fire?
No, e no teach so. This wrong idea come from how people understand 2 Peter 3:7, wey talk say: “They don keep the heavens and the earth wey dey now de wait for fire.” Make we see two important points wey fit help us understand the meaning of this verse:
When Bible use the words “heaven,” “earth,” and “fire” e fit mean more than one thing. For example, Genesis 11:1 talk say: “All the earth de speak one language.” For this verse, “earth” mean people for the whole world.
The verses around 2 Peter 3:7 show the meaning of the heavens, the earth, and fire, wey this verse talk about. Verse 5 and 6 mention the heaven and earth wey dey for the time of Noah when heavy rain fall. When that rain fall, e destroy the world for that time, but the earth still stand. The heavy rain destroy the wicked people, or the “earth.” (Genesis 6:11) The rain still destroy one kind of “heavens,” this one na the people wey de rule other people for the whole earth that time. So na wicked people they destroy, no be this earth. Noah and e family survive when them de destroy that world and they live for the earth after the heavy rain.—Genesis 8:15-18.
Just like the heavy rain destroy wicked people that time, the fire wey 2 Peter 3:7 talk about go destroy wicked people, no be the earth. God promise “new heavens and new earth” wey “people wey de do wetin God want go live inside.” (2 Peter 3:13) So na “new heavens,” or new government wey be the Kingdom of God, go rule over the “new earth” or new group of people. When that Kingdom de rule, the earth go be paradise and peace go dey everywhere.—Revelation 21:1-4.
