    • Izimpondo eziyishumi zizosizonda isifebe (16, 17)

17  Enye yezingelosi eziyisikhombisa ezazinezitsha eziyisikhombisa + yeza yathi kimi: “Woza, ngizokubonisa ukwahlulelwa kwesifebe esikhulu esihlala phezu kwamanzi amaningi, +  leso amakhosi omhlaba aziphatha kabi naso ngokocansi, *+ kanti labo abahlala emhlabeni badakwa yiwayini lokuziphatha kabi kwaso ngokocansi.” *+  Yangithwala ngamandla omoya yangiyisa ehlane. Ngabona owesifazane ehlezi phezu kwesilo sasendle esinombala obomvu esasigcwele amagama enhlamba, sinamakhanda ayisikhombisa nezimpondo eziyishumi.  Owesifazane wayegqoke okuphephuli + nokubomvu, ehlobe ngegolide nangamatshe ayigugu nangamapharele, + esandleni sakhe ephethe indebe yegolide eyayigcwele izinto ezinyanyekayo nezingcolile zokuziphatha kabi kwakhe ngokocansi.*  Esiphongweni sakhe* kwakubhalwe igama eliyimfihlakalo: “IBhabhiloni Elikhulu, unina wezifebe + nowamanyala omhlaba.” +  Ngabona ukuthi owesifazane wayedakwe yigazi labangcwele negazi lofakazi bakaJesu. + Lapho ngimbona ngamangala kakhulu.  Ngakho ingelosi yathi kimi: “Kungani umangele? Ngizokutshela imfihlakalo yowesifazane + neyesilo sasendle esimthwele esinamakhanda ayisikhombisa nezimpondo eziyishumi: +  Isilo sasendle osibonile sasikhona, kodwa manje asisekho, nokho sesizonyuka siphume kwalasha, + futhi sizobhujiswa. Abahlala emhlabeni—labo amagama abo angabhalwanga encwadini yokuphila + kusukela ekusungulweni kwezwe—bayomangala lapho bebona ukuthi isilo sasendle sasikhona, kodwa manje asisekho, kodwa sisazoba khona.  “Lapha yilapho kudingeka khona ukuhlakanipha: Amakhanda ayisikhombisa + asho izintaba eziyisikhombisa, lapho kuhlezi khona owesifazane. 10  Kukhona amakhosi ayisikhombisa: Ayisihlanu asewile, enye ikhona, enye ayikafiki; kodwa lapho ifika kumelwe ihlale isikhashana. 11  Isilo sasendle esasikhona kodwa esingasekho, + naso siyinkosi ka-8, kodwa sivela kulawa ayisikhombisa, futhi sizobhujiswa. 12  “Izimpondo eziyishumi ozibonile zisho amakhosi ayishumi angakawamukeli umbuso, kodwa athola igunya njengamakhosi ihora elilodwa kanye nesilo sasendle. 13  Lawa anomqondo owodwa, ngakho anika isilo sasendle amandla awo negunya lawo. 14  Lawa ayolwa neWundlu, + kodwa ngenxa yokuthi liyiNkosi yamakhosi noMbusi wababusi, + iWundlu liyowanqoba. + Nalabo abakanye nalo ababiziwe nabakhethiwe nabathembekile nabo bayowanqoba.” + 15  Yathi kimi: “Amanzi owabonile, lawo isifebe esihlezi kuwo, asho abantu nezixuku nezizwe nezilimi. + 16  Izimpondo eziyishumi + ozibonile nesilo sasendle, + ziyosizonda isifebe + zisicekele phansi zisihambise nqunu, ziyoyidla ziyiqede inyama yaso futhi zisishise ngomlilo siphele. + 17  Ngoba uNkulunkulu ukufake ezinhliziyweni zawo* ukuba afeze umqondo wakhe, + yebo, ukuba afeze umqondo wawo owodwa ngokunika isilo sasendle + umbuso wawo, kuze kube yilapho esefezekile amazwi kaNkulunkulu. 18  Owesifazane + ombonile usho idolobha elikhulu elibusa phezu kwamakhosi omhlaba.”
