Ngemva kokuphelelwa umsebenzi, uGenival waqhubeka enikela okweshumi. Umfundisi wakhe wamkhuthaza ukuba avivinye uNkulunkulu ngokwenza umnikelo omkhulu. Lo mfundisi wamqinisekisa ukuthi nakanjani uNkulunkulu wayezomthululela isibusiso. Ngakho uGenival wanquma ukudayisa umuzi wakhe anikele ngaleyo mali esontweni.

Akuyena yedwa uGenival oqotho kangaka ekunikeleni. Abantu abaningi abampofu kakhulu banikela okweshumi ngobuqotho ngoba amasonto abo abafundisa ukuthi ukunikela okweshumi kuyimfuneko eBhayibhelini. Ingabe kunjalo?

Ukunikela Okweshumi NoMthetho

Umyalo wokunikela okweshumi wawuyingxenye yoMthetho uJehova uNkulunkulu awunika izizwe ezingu-12 zakwa-Israyeli wasendulo eminyakeni engaphezu kuka-3 500 edlule. Lowo Mthetho wawuthi makunikelwe esizweni samaLevi okweshumi komkhiqizo wezwe nemithi yezithelo nokweshumi kwenzalo yemihlambi ukuze kusekelwe izinkonzo zaso etabernakele.—Levitikusi 27:30, 32; Numeri 18:21, 24.

UJehova wawaqinisekisa ama-Israyeli ukuthi uMthetho ‘wawungeke ube lukhuni kuwo.’ (Duteronomi 30:11) Uma nje ayeyigcina ngokwethembeka imiyalo kaJehova, kuhlanganise nokunikela okweshumi, ayengalindela isivuno esikhulu. UMthetho wawunganikezi isigwebo sokunganikeli okweshumi, kodwa umIsrayeli ngamunye wayengaphansi kwesibopho esiqinile sokusekela ukukhulekela kweqiniso ngale ndlela. Empeleni, osukwini lukaMalaki uJehova wathi ama-Israyeli ayengakunikeli okweshumi ‘ayamphanga kokweshumi naseminikelweni.’ (Malaki 3:8) Ingabe amaKristu anganikeli okweshumi angabekwa icala elifanayo?

Cabanga ngalokhu. Imithetho yamazwe ngokuvamile ayisebenzi ngale kwemingcele yalelo zwe. Ngokwesibonelo, umthetho othi abashayeli bezimoto eBrithani mabashayele ngakwesokunxele awusebenzi kubashayeli abaseFrance. Ngokufanayo, umthetho ofuna kunikelwe okweshumi wawuyingxenye yesivumelwano phakathi kukaNkulunkulu nesizwe sama-Israyeli kuphela. (Eksodusi 19:3-8; IHubo 147:19, 20) Kwakungama-Israyeli kuphela ayeboshwe yilowo mthetho.

Ngaphezu kwalokho, nakuba kuyiqiniso ukuthi uNkulunkulu akashintshi, ngezinye izikhathi izimfuneko zakhe ziyashintsha. (Malaki 3:6) IBhayibheli lisho ngokucacile ukuthi ukufa kukaJesu okuwumhlatshelo, ngo-33 C.E., ‘kwawesula,’ noma ‘kwawuqeda,’ uMthetho kanye ‘nomyalo wokuqoqa okukodwa eshumini.’—Kolose 2:13, 14; Efesu 2:13-15; Heberu 7:5, 18.

Ukupha KobuKristu

Nokho, iminikelo yokusekela ukukhulekela kweqiniso yayisadingeka. UJesu wayethume abafundi bakhe ukuba ‘babe ofakazi bakhe ezingxenyeni eziqhele kakhulu zomhlaba.’ (IzEnzo 1:8) Njengoba inani lamakholwa lalanda, sakhula nesidingo sabafundisi nababonisi abangamaKristu ababezohambela amabandla bawaqinise. Ngezinye izikhathi kwakudingeka kunakekelwe abafelokazi, izintandane nabanye abaswele. Ahlangabezana kanjani nezindleko ezihilelekile amaKristu ekhulu lokuqala?

Ngawo-55 C.E., kwathunyelwa isicelo kumaKristu angabeZizwe eYurophu nase-Asia Minor kucelelwa ibandla elimpofu laseJudiya. Ezincwadini ayezibhalele ibandla laseKorinte, umphostoli uPawulu uchaza indlela okwahlelwa ngayo lokhu “kuqoqwa komnikelo ongowabangcwele.” (1 Korinte 16:1) Kungase kukumangaze lokho okwembulwa amazwi kaPawulu mayelana nokupha kobuKristu.

Umphostoli uPawulu akazange abancenge ngobuqili ayekholwa nabo ukuba banikele. Eqinisweni, amaKristu aseMakedoniya ‘ayehlupheka’ futhi ‘empofu kakhulu’ kwadingeka ‘alokhu emncenga ngokuncenga okukhulu ecela ilungelo lokupha ngomusa nokuba nengxenye enkonzweni emiselwe abangcwele.’—2 Korinte 8:1-4.

Yiqiniso, uPawulu wakhuthaza abaseKorinte abami kahle ukuba balingise abafowabo eMakedoniya. Noma kunjalo, enye incwadi ithi ‘wenqaba ukunikeza iziqondiso, wakhetha ukucela, ukusikisela, ukukhuthaza noma ukunxusa. Uma babecindezelwa, abaseKorinte babengeke banikele ngokuzithandela nangenjabulo.’ UPawulu wayazi ukuthi “uNkulunkulu uthanda umuphi onamileyo,” hhayi onikela “ngokungathandi noma ngaphansi kokucindezelwa.”—2 Korinte 9:7.

Ukholo olukhulu nolwazi kanye nothando oluqotho ngamaKristu ababekanye nawo kwakuyoshukumisela abaseKorinte ukuba banikele ngokusuka kubo.—2 Korinte 8:7, 8.

“Njengoba Nje Enqumile Enhliziyweni Yakhe”

Kunokuba anikeze inani elithile noma isilinganiso samaphesenti, uPawulu wamane wasikisela ukuba “ngosuku lokuqala lwesonto ngalinye, yilowo nalowo . . . abeke eceleni imali ethile kuye ngeholo lakhe.” (Omalukeke sizenzele; 1 Korinte 16:2, New International Version) Ngokuhlela nokubekela eceleni imali ethile njalo, abaseKorinte babengeke bazizwe becindezelekile ukuba baphe bengathandisisi noma ngenxa yokuthathwa yimizwa lapho kufika uPawulu. KumKristu ngamunye, isinqumo senani ayezolinikela sasiyindaba yakhe yedwa, ‘ayeyinqume enhliziyweni yakhe.’—2 Korinte 9:5, 7.

Ukuze bavune kakhulu, abaseKorinte kwakudingeka bahlwanyele kakhulu. Akuzange kugudliselwe ukuba banikele kuze kuzwele. UPawulu wabaqinisekisa: ‘Angiqondile ukuba kube nzima kini.’ Iminikelo ‘yayamukeleka ngokukhethekile ngokwalokho umuntu ayenakho, hhayi ngokwalokho umuntu ayengenakho.’ (2 Korinte 8:12, 13; 9:6) Encwadini yakamuva, lo mphostoli waxwayisa: “Uma noma ubani engabondli . . . labo abangamalungu endlu yakhe, uluphikile ukholo futhi mubi kakhulu kunomuntu ongenalo ukholo.” (1 Thimothewu 5:8) UPawulu akakukhuthazanga ukunikela okuphula lesi simiso.

Kuyaphawuleka ukuthi uPawulu wengamela ‘ukuqoqwa komnikelo wabangcwele’ ababeswele. Asifundi emiBhalweni ukuthi uPawulu noma abanye abaphostoli bahlela ukuqoqwa noma ukwamukelwa kokweshumi ukuze baxhase inkonzo yabo. (IzEnzo 3:6) Njengoba ayekwazisa ukuthola izipho amabandla ayemthumelela zona, ngobuqotho uPawulu wayekugwema ukuthwesa abafowabo “umthwalo osindayo.”—1 Thesalonika 2:9; Filipi 4:15-18.

Ukunikela Kokuzithandela Namuhla

Kusobala ukuthi ngekhulu lokuqala, abalandeli bakaKristu babenikela ngokuzithandela, benganikeli okweshumi. Nokho, ungase uzibuze ukuthi lokhu kuseyindlela esebenzayo yini yokusekela ukushunyayelwa kwezindaba ezinhle nokunakekela amaKristu aswele.

Cabanga ngalokhu. Ngo-1879 abahleli balo magazini basho ngokucacile ukuthi ‘abasoze bancenga noma banxuse abantu ukuba basekele.’ Ingabe leso sinqumo siye sayikhinyabeza imizamo yoFakazi BakaJehova yokusakaza iqiniso leBhayibheli?

Njengamanje, oFakazi basakaza amaBhayibheli, izincwadi zobuKristu, nezinye emazweni angu-235. INqabayokulinda, umagazini ofundisa ngeBhayibheli, yaqale yasakazwa kanye ngenyanga ngamakhophi angu-6 000 olimi olulodwa. Kusukela lapho isiye yaba umagazini ophuma kabili ngenyanga ngamakhophi angu-24 000 000 atholakala ngezilimi ezingu-146. Ukuze bahlele umsebenzi wabo wokufundisa ngeBhayibheli emhlabeni wonke, oFakazi baye bakha noma bathenga izakhiwo zokuqondisa emazweni angu-110. Ngaphezu kwalokho, baye bakha izinkulungwane zezindawo zokuhlangana kanye namahholo amakhulu emihlangano akwazi ukuhlalisa labo abathanda ukuthola imfundo eyengeziwe yeBhayibheli.

Nakuba ukunakekela izidingo zabantu ezingokomoya kuza kuqala, oFakazi BakaJehova abazidebeseleli izidingo ezingokwenyama zalabo abakholwa nabo. Lapho abafowabo bebhekene nemiphumela yezimpi, ukuzamazama komhlaba, isomiso nezikhukhula, basukumela phezulu banikele ngezinto zokwelapha, ukudla, izingubo zokugqoka, nezinye izinto ezidingekayo. Lezi zinto zitholakala ngenxa yeminikelo eyenziwa amaKristu ahlukahlukene namabandla.

Ngaphezu kokuphumelela, ukunikela ngokuzithandela kwethula umthwalo kulabo abangenazo izinto ezitheni, abanjengoGenival, okukhulunywe ngaye ngaphambili. Ngenhlanhla, ngaphambi kokuba awudayise umuzi wakhe, uGenival wavakashelwa uMaria, isikhonzi sesikhathi esigcwele soFakazi BakaJehova. “Leyo ngxoxo yasindisa umkhaya wami ezinhluphekweni ezinkulu ezingadingekile,” kukhumbula uGenival.

UGenival wathola ukuthi umsebenzi weNkosi awuxhomekile kokweshumi. Empeleni, ukunikela okweshumi akuseyona imfuneko emiBhalweni. Wafunda ukuthi amaKristu ayabusiswa lapho enikela ngesandla esivulekile kodwa awabophekile ukunikela ngaphezu kwamandla awo.
