(Isaya 1:1–12:6)

Abesifazane sebeyaqhosha. Abantu abamkhulekeli ngendlela eyamukelekayo uNkulunkulu weqiniso. U-Isaya uthunywa ukuba ahambe akhulume “ngokuphindaphindiwe” nalabo abangaqondi nabangalufuni ulwazi.

UJuda usengozini yokuhlaselwa amabutho ahlangene ka-Israyeli neSiriya. Esebenzisa u-Isaya nabantwana bakhe “njengezibonakaliso nanjengezimangaliso,” uJehova uqinisekisa uJuda ngokuthi umfela-ndawonye weSiriya no-Israyeli ngeke uphumelele. (Isaya 8:18) Nokho, ukuthula okuhlala njalo kuyolethwa kuphela ukubusa ‘kweSikhulu Sokuthula.’ (Isaya 9:6, 7) UJehova uzophinde ahlulele i-Asiriya, isizwe asisebenzisa ‘njengentonga yentukuthelo yakhe.’ Ekugcineni uJuda uzothunjwa kodwa ‘yinsali kuphela eyobuya.’ (Isaya 10:5, 21, 22) Kuyoba khona ubulungisa beqiniso lapho sekubusa ‘ihlumela elingokomfanekiso eliphuma esiphunzini sikaJese.’—Isaya 11:1.

Izimpendulo Zemibuzo YemiBhalo

1:8, 9—Kungamuphi umqondo indodakazi yaseZiyoni ‘iyosala njengedokodo esivinini, njengendlwana yokuqapha ensimini yamakhukhamba’? Lokhu kusho ukuthi phakathi nokuhlaselwa i-Asiriya, iJerusalema liyobonakala lingenamandla okuzivikela njengedokodo esivinini noma njengendlwana engabhidlizeka kalula ensimini yamakhukhamba. Kodwa uJehova uyalisiza, ngakho akalivumeli ukuba lifane neSodoma neGomora.

1:18—Asho ukuthini amazwi athi: “Wozani, manje, masilungise izindaba phakathi kwethu”? Lesi akusona isicelo sokuba kuxazululwe indaba bese kufinyelelwa esivumelwaneni ngokubonisana. Kunalokho, leli vesi lisho ukuba khona kwenkundla yobulungisa lapho uMahluleli olungile, uJehova, enikeza khona u-Israyeli ithuba lokuguquka azihlanze.

6:8a—Kuleli vesi, kungani kusetshenziswe isivumelwano esithi “ngi” egameni elithi “ngizothuma” nesithi “si” egameni elithi “ozosiyela”? Isivumelwano esithi “ngi” simelela uJehova uNkulunkulu. Isivumelwano esisebuningini esithi “si” sibonisa ukuthi kukhona omunye umuntu onoJehova njengoba ekhuluma. Yebo, lowo muntu ‘yiNdodana yakhe ezelwe yodwa.’—Johane 1:14; 3:16.

6:11—Wayesho ukuthini u-Isaya lapho ebuza: “O Jehova, kuze kube nini?” U-Isaya wayengabuzi ukuthi kuyoze kube nini ehambisa umyalezo kaJehova kubantu abangezwa. Kunalokho, wayefuna ukwazi ukuthi ukugula ngokomoya kwabantu kwakuyohlambalaza igama likaNkulunkulu kuze kube nini.

7:3, 4—Kungani uJehova asindisa u-Ahazi, inkosi embi? Amakhosi aseSiriya nakwa-Israyeli ahlela ukususa inkosi yakwaJuda u-Ahazi esihlalweni sobukhosi abeke umbusi ongupopayi, indodana kaThabeyeli—indoda eyayingeyona eyozalo lukaDavide. Leli cebo likaDeveli laliyophazamisa ukusebenza kwesivumelwano soMbuso esenziwa noDavide. UJehova wasindisa u-Ahazi ukuze agcine uhlu lozalo olwaluyoveza “iSikhulu Sokuthula” esithenjisiwe.—Isaya 9:6.

7:8—U-Efrayimi ‘waphihlizwa kanjani waba yizicucu’ phakathi neminyaka engu-65? Ukudingiswa kwabantu basembusweni wezizwe eziyishumi nokuhlaliswa kwabezizwe ezweni kwaqala “ezinsukwini zikaPheka inkosi yakwa-Israyeli,” ngemva nje kokuba u-Isaya esho lesi siprofetho. (2 AmaKhosi 15:29) Kwaqhubeka isikhathi eside kwaze kwaba sezinsukwini zika-Esari-hadoni, inkosi yase-Asiriya, indodana kaSaneheribi neyamlandela esikhundleni. (2 AmaKhosi 17:6; Ezra 4:1, 2; Isaya 37:37, 38) Lesi senzo sama-Asiriya sokususa nokuyisa abantu eSamariya sathatha inkathi eyiminyaka engu-65 eshiwo ku-Isaya 7:8.

11:1, 10—UJesu Kristu angaba kanjani “ihlumela [eliphuma] esiphunzini sikaJese” abuye abe ‘yimpande kaJese’? (Roma 15:12) UJesu wavela “esiphunzini sikaJese” ngokoqobo. Wayengowozalo lukaJese ngendodana kaJese, uDavide. (Mathewu 1:1-6; Luka 3:23-32) Nokho, ukuthola kukaJesu amandla okubusa kuthinta ubuhlobo bakhe nokhokho bakhe. Ngenxa yokuthi uye wanikezwa amandla negunya lokunikeza isintu esilalelayo ukuphila okuphakade emhlabeni, uJesu uba “uYise Ongunaphakade” kubo. (Isaya 9:6) Yingakho abuye abe “impande” yokhokho bakhe, kuhlanganise noJese.

Izifundo Esizitholayo:

1:3. Ukwenqaba ukuphila ngendlela uMdali wethu afuna siphile ngayo kusho ukungazi into eyaziwa ngisho nayinkunzi noma imbongolo. Ngakolunye uhlangothi, ukuhlakulela ukwazisa zonke izinto uJehova asenzele zona kuyosinqanda ekwenzeni izinto ngokungaqondi nokumshiya.

1:11-13. Imikhosi yenkolo enobuzenzisi kanye nemithandazo yokugcina icala kwenza uJehova akhathale. Izenzo nemithandazo yethu kufanele kube nezisusa ezinhle.

1:25-27; 2:2; 4:2, 3Ukugqilazwa kukaJuda nokuba incithakalo kwezwe lakhe kwakuyophela ngokuba kubuyele insali ephendukile eJerusalema kubuyiselwe nokukhulekela kweqiniso. UJehova unomusa ezonini eziphendukayo.

2:2-4. Ukuhlanganyela ngentshiseko ekushumayeleni ngoMbuso nasekwenzeni abafundi kusiza abantu abaphuma ezizweni ngezizwe bafunde izindlela zokuthula futhi bazame ukuba nokuthula nabanye abantu.

4:4. UJehova uyosusa, noma uyogeza, ukungcola kokuziphatha necala legazi.

5:11-13. Ukungazithibi nokungalinganiseli lapho sikhetha indlela yokuzijabulisa kuwukwenqaba ukwenza ngendlela ebonisa ukuba nolwazi.—Roma 13:13.

5:21-23. Abadala abangamaKristu, noma ababonisi, kumelwe bakugweme ukuzibona “behlakaniphile emehlweni abo.” Kudingeka futhi balinganisele endabeni ‘yokuphuza iwayini’ futhi kumelwe bakugweme ukukhetha.

11:3a. Isibonelo sikaJesu nezimfundiso zakhe zibonisa ukuthi lapho umuntu esaba uJehova uthola injabulo.

“UJEHOVA UYOBONISA ISIHE KUJAKOBE”

(Isaya 13:1–35:10)

Izahluko 13 kuya ku-23 ziyizimemezelo zezahlulelo zezizwe. Nokho, “uJehova uyobonisa isihe kuJakobe” ngokuvumela zonke izizwe zakwa-Israyeli ukuba zibuyele ekhaya. (Isaya 14:1) Isigijimi esithi elakwaJuda liyoba incithakalo esisezahlukweni 24 kuya ku-27 sihambisana nesithembiso sokubuyiselwa. UJehova uthukuthelela ‘izidakwa zakwa-Efrayimi,’ noma zakwa-Israyeli ngokwenza umfela-ndawonye neSiriya futhi uthukuthelela “umpristi nomprofethi” wakwaJuda ngokufuna ukwenza umfela-ndawonye ne-Asiriya. (Isaya 28:1, 7) Kumenyezelwa umaye phezu ‘kwe-Ariyeli,’ noma iJerusalema ‘ngokuphuma ukuba lehlele eGibhithe’ ukuze lithole isivikelo. (Isaya 29:1, 30:1, 2) Noma kunjalo, kuthiwa labo ababonisa ukholo kuJehova bayosindiswa.

UJehova uyoqapha “iNtaba yaseZiyoni” ‘njengebhongo lengonyama elinomhlwenga, eligwavumayo lapho lilwela inyamazane yalo.’ (Isaya 31:4) Kunikezwa esinye futhi isithembiso: “Bheka! Inkosi iyobusa ngenjongo yokulunga.” (Isaya 32:1) Nakuba usongo lwe-Asiriya kuJuda lwenza ukuba ngisho ‘nezithunywa zokuthula’ zikhale kamunyu, uJehova uthembisa ukuthi abantu bakhe bayophulukiswa, “baxolelwe isiphambeko sabo.” (Isaya 33:7, 22-24) “UJehova uzithukuthelele zonke izizwe, futhi ufuthekele wonke amabutho azo.” (Isaya 34:2) UJuda ngeke ahlale eyincithakalo. “Ihlane nesifunda esingenamanzi kuyothaba, ithafa eliwugwadule liyojabula futhi liqhakaze njengesafroni.”—Isaya 35:1.

Izimpendulo Zemibuzo YemiBhalo

13:17—Kungayiphi indlela amaMede ayebheka isiliva njengelingelutho futhi engajatshuliswanga yigolide? AmaMede namaPheresiya babebheka udumo abaluthola ngemva kokunqoba njengolungaphezu kwempango yempi. Lokhu kwabonakala kahle lapho uKoresi enikeza izithunjwa ezazibuyela ekhaya izitsha zegolide nezesiliva ezaziphangwe uNebukhadinezari ethempelini likaJehova.

14:1, 2—Abantu bakaJehova baba kanjani ‘abathumbi balabo ababathumbile’ futhi ‘babathobisa kanjani labo ababebaqhuba ukuba basebenze’? Lokhu kwenzeka kubantu abafana noDaniyeli owayenesikhundla esiphakeme eBhabhiloni ngaphansi kwamaMede namaPheresiya; ku-Esteri owaba indlovukazi yamaPheresiya; nakuMoridekayi owamiswa njengondunankulu eMbusweni WasePheresiya.

20:2-5—Ingabe ngempela u-Isaya wahamba-ze ngokuphelele iminyaka emithathu? Cishe u-Isaya wakhumula ingubo yakhe yangaphandle kuphela wahamba engambethe kangako.—1 Samuweli 19:24.

21:1—Isiphi isifunda esibizwa ngokuthi ‘ihlane lolwandle’? Nakuba iBhabhiloni lalingekho nhlobo eduze kolwandle, libizwa ngale ndlela. Lokhu kungenxa yokuthi izikhukhula zemifula i-Ewufrathe neTigrisi zazivame ukuhlasela le ndawo minyaka yonke, zenze kube nexhaphozi ‘elinjengolwandle.’

24:13-16—AmaJuda ayeyoba kanjani “phakathi kwezizwe, njengokuvuthuzwa komnqumo, njengokukhothoza lapho ukubuthwa kwamagilebhisi sekuphelile”? Njengoba nje kuye kusale izithelo ezithile esihlahleni noma emvinini ngemva kokuvuna, kwakuyosala ingcosana lapho kubhujiswa iJerusalema noJuda. Kungakhathaliseki ukuthi abasindile babeyodingiselwa kuphi, mhlawumbe “esifundeni sokukhanya [iBhabhiloni eliseMpumalanga]” noma “eziqhingini zolwandle [iMedithera],” babeyokhazimulisa uJehova.

24:21—Lingobani “ibutho lendawo ephakeme” futhi angobani “amakhosi omhlaba”? “Ibutho lendawo ephakeme” lingalifanekisela kahle ibandla lomoya ababi. “Amakhosi omhlaba” wona angababusi basemhlabeni abalawulwa amademoni.—1 Johane 5:19.

25:7—Siyini ‘isigubuzelo esigubuzele zonke izizwe nokwelukiweyo okulukwe kwahlanganiswa phezu kwazo zonke izizwe’? Lesi sifaniso sisho isitha somuntu esikhulu kakhulu—isono nokufa.

Izifundo Esizitholayo:

13:20-22; 14:22, 23; 21:1-9. Izwi likaJehova eliyisiprofetho liyafezeka njalo njengoba kwenzeka endabeni yeBhabhiloni.

17:7, 8Nakuba iningi kwa-Israyeli lingazange lilalele, bakhona abantu abamlindela uJehova. Ngokufanayo, kunabathile kweLobukholwa abasilalelayo isigijimi soMbuso.

28:1-6. U-Israyeli uzonqotshwa i-Asiriya kodwa uNkulunkulu uzoqinisekisa ukuthi abathembekile bayasinda. Izahlulelo zikaJehova azibashiyi bengenathemba abalungileyo.

28:23-29. UJehova ulungisa abantu abaqotho kuye ngezidingo nangezimo zabo.

30:15. Ukuze uJehova asisindise, kudingeka sibonise ukholo ‘ngokuphumula,’ noma ngokugwema ukufuna insindiso emacebweni abantu. Ngokuzigcina ‘singaphazamisekile,’ noma ngokungabi naluvalo, sibonisa ukuthi sithembele emandleni kaJehova okusivikela.

30:20, 21. ‘Sibona’ uJehova futhi ‘sizwa’ izwi lakhe lensindiso ngokulalela akushoyo ngeZwi lakhe eliphefumulelwe, iBhayibheli, ‘nangenceku ethembekileyo neqondayo.’—Mathewu 24:45.

Isiprofetho Sika-Isaya Senza Sithembele Kakhulu EZwini LikaNkulunkulu

Yeka indlela okufanele sisibonge ngayo isigijimi sikaNkulunkulu esisencwadini ka-Isaya! Iziprofetho esezigcwalisekile kakade zenza sikukholelwe nakakhulu ukuthi ‘izwi eliphuma emlonyeni kaJehova ngeke libuyele kuye lingabanga namiphumela.’—Isaya 55:11.

Kuthiwani ngeziprofetho eziphathelene noMesiya, njengalezo ezitholakala ku-Isaya 9:7 naku-Isaya 11:1-5, 10? Ziyaluqinisa yini ukholo lwethu elungiselelweni likaJehova lokusisindisa? Le ncwadi iqukethe neziprofetho ezigcwaliseka kakhulu namuhla nezisazogcwaliseka. (Isaya 2:2-4; 11:6-9; 25:6-8; 32:1, 2) Yebo, incwadi ka-Isaya ingobunye ubufakazi bokuthi “izwi likaNkulunkulu liyaphila”!—Hebheru 4:12.
